Dear Mandalay Families:

We are nearing the last few months of the school year- time certainly flies by!

Looking ahead, our focus for April is Courage.  As previously mentioned, all three elementary schools will designate the second Tuesday of each month to Character Dare, which highlights the theme of the month with a short homework assignment for students to complete, fostering a stronger partnership between school and home. The assignment is linked within the April calendar. Teachers will select a few assignments to display in the main lobby on our SEL bulletin board.

Here is the calendar for April, which focuses on acceptance. In recognition of Autism Awareness Day, we are pleased to have author Christopher Agnello virtually join us to answer questions following staff reading his book Please Be Patient to their classes.

Just a reminder we are nearing the NYS ELA, Math, and Science Assessments in April and May. Recently, Mrs. Carol-Ann Winans sent out a correspondence in Parent Square reviewing all necessary information. If you have a third, fourth and/or fifth grader please review her message when you have a free moment.  If your child(ren) are not sitting for the assessments the form needs to be completed by March 27th.  For you convenience the form is listed below under "helpful links".

Warmly,
Marie Pisicchio
Principal | Mandalay Elementary School
