Rocco Up Teaches Acceptance and Kindness During Autism Acceptance Spirit Week

Mandalay Elementary students took part in Autism Acceptance Spirit Week by watching the inspiring documentary Rocco Up. The film shares the story of a young boy with autism and highlights the importance of kindness, understanding, and inclusion.
Through Rocco’s experiences, students learned that every child is unique and deserves to feel accepted and supported. The documentary encouraged meaningful conversations about empathy and reminded students that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in helping others feel valued and included.
Students also participated in a virtual Q&A session with Ben, Rocco’s dad, in the comfort of their classroom.
By participating in activities like Rocco Up, Mandalay Elementary continues to promote a school community where differences are celebrated and all students feel they belong.
